The former governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson announced today that it intends to run for U.S. president on the Libertarian Party, tired of bipartisanship and after leaving the race for the Republican nomination.

In a press conference in Santa Fe (New Mexico), Johnson expressed frustration with the two major U.S. parties, but especially the Republicans, where he has felt "rejected".

"We are tired of bipartisanship. The Democratic Party, I believe, has turned its back on gay rights, antiwar base to (...) And Republicans are not good stewards of taxpayers' money," lamented Johnson , who was governor of New Mexico on two occasions.

The former governor and leaves the race for the Republican presidential nomination. His campaign did not arouse media attention, not only won many followers and participated in a couple of televised debates between the candidates.

Now start a new campaign for the presidential nomination for the Libertarian Party, characterized by ultra-liberal ideology defense in the economic and social progressive.

Ron Paul, another Republican presidential candidate known for his liberal views, has also hinted that he would fight for the nomination of the Libertarian Party if it achieves a good result in the primary process that begins next January 3 in Iowa

In addition, last week Donald Trump entrepreneur and changed his political affiliation from Republican to Independent, which has returned to shoot the speculation about his intention to run for the elections of November 2012, in which the U.S. President Barack Obama will seek reelection.

Real estate mogul reached earlier this year flirting with getting the Republican presidential nomination, but finally discarded.

Last month Trump himself said he could enter the race for the presidency if the Republican Party in primary does not choose the "right candidate".

Experts agree that, if a candidate of "third way" that can divide the Republican electorate and lead, ultimately, in a wide margin of victory for Obama.
