Van Halen

Van Halen
The veteran rock band Van Halen on Monday announced a tour with the comeback of the original singer David Lee Roth.

In a video posted on the website of the band-halen.com www.van, Eddie Van Halen, brother Alex and son Wolfgang playing the hit "Panama" while Roth scampers around the stage. Underneath it reads "Van Halen Tour 2012" and that tickets go on sale June 10.

No other details have been announced, but the video confirms rumors that the music industry would join the band back to Roth. It is also said to be recording an album Van Halen after signing a record deal in November.

A separate article published on the Van Halen News Desk site said the video was recorded at the Roxy Theatre on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles while the band played "a new song."

The news site speculated on the possible date of February for the launch of a new album, and said it was produced by Ross Hogarth. It was the first full album of the band with Roth from the CD "1984" which was released on December 31, 1983.

The relationship of Van Halen with Roth has been stormy in recent years. Roth left the band in 1985 after a bitter breakup and only joined them for a performance at MTV Video Music Awards in 1996, but returned soon after to divide. He returned with Van Halen for a tour in 2007-2008.

The band, whose early hits included "Runnin 'With the Devil" and "Dance the Night Away" was one of the major rock groups of 70, 80 and 90 when Sammy Hagar replaced Roth as a singer.

Michael Anthony was the original bassist, but along with Hagar has joined another band, Chickenfoot. Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddie's son, took over the bass.
