Determined to try to buy the Dodgers team, the legendary Joe Torre yesterday resigned from his post as executive vice president of baseball operations of Major League Baseball. Former major league manager will join a group of investors who make efforts to acquire the franchise.

After running for several seasons at New York Yankees, Torre was manager between 2008 and 2010 Dodgers at the end of this calendar announced his retirement. During February 2011, he joined the Major League Baseball offices and served as a senior adviser of commissioner Bud Selig. It also integrates a group led by real estate developer Rick Caruso.
