Van Halen

Van Halen
Quite modest, Van Halen reunion tour playing in front of her warm in a tiny New York club.

Since Van Halen's debut in 1978 and the break with singer David Lee Roth in 1985 a lot has happened, but that's yesterday's news. Now the band has reunited and is nearing its reunion tour.

Once they filled stadiums and came with their albums in the Top-10 of the U.S. charts, now they bake bread to restart at first very small and are to warm up in the tiny New York club Café Wha? has occurred.

In 1985, after a stage full of excessive alcohol and drugs, the charismatic musician parted in the dispute. Sammy Hagar followed him, he had as a singer and artist a clean image. The success of Van Halen was retained initially. Then Roth came back to 1996th From 1999 to 2003 followed a period of silence. Then came Hagar, Roth again later. A complicated story!

What is left? Musically, some say, before the new album "A Different Kind of Truth" will appear in February. With the musicians Alex and Eddie Van Halen can go wrong really little, and David Lee Roth does not give the impression that he had lost his temper on performing. All the time spoke of the (no doubt amazing) Eddie Van Halen virtousen arts, but he has been overlooked as an outstanding rhythm guitarist ever. Were rarely observed and the expertise of drummer Alex Van Halen, who gave the song this Californian broadband sound - either with a broad beat at half speed or with pelvic accents, which gave the songs ease and speed.

Bassist Michael Anthony may have been an acceptable instrumentalist on stage and in photographs he was always in the shadow of the big three and it was said, had Eddie Van Halen before the start of the band decided against it. The agency has bass player Eddie's son Wolfgang in any case assumed that the father was named after Mozart.

In New York's Cafe Wha? The rockers played in front of selected guests. "Jump" and "Panama" were heard. Singer David Lee Roth with the known presence in the West Village, he was more nervous than at a gig in the huge Madison Square Garden. In February, the new album, then follows the tour.

Even if singer David Lee Roth (57) and guitarist Eddie Van Halen (57) are getting on in years, they enjoyed themselves so much that the New York audience went along enthusiastically.
