Stanford (11-2) had a chance to win in regulation, but the freshman redshirt Jordan Williamson missed a field goal from 35 yards to the left when the time expiraba.Y also lost a 43-yard attempt in extra time.

Generally, the balanced offense the Cowboys had just 15 yards on 13 carries, but Weeden completed 29 of 42 passes and three touchdown passes to tight end Blackmon, who had eight catches for 186 yards.

After the game, Blackmon said he skipped his senior year to enter the NFL draft.
